My journey with Foreverstrong started in 2016 when the company where I was working unexpectedly closed down. I suddenly had nowhere important to go to once I dropped our three kids at school and I felt a bit lost. This is when my friend Kim invited me to a workout at FSPT with her. I struggled and laughed a lot through the workout, but really enjoyed it. I remember that I was so inflexible that I couldn’t do a level 1 burpee and Sheldon had to put a sandbag against the wall for me to be able to do the burpees.

I have never enjoyed going to the gym and remember promising myself years back that I would never join a gym again, as I always joined, tried it out, never got results, never went back again, and then kept paying for 2 years. But this time I decided to join FSPT for 12 weeks and immediately loved the family vibe it had and the social interaction that I had with the other ladies there. It was hard work, but it was so much fun at the same time. And I could feel how I was getting stronger and fitter, so I joined long term.

During my time at FSPT I got bronchitis and pneumonia which took me out of the gym for quite some time and I became really overweight and really unhappy with the way I looked!

In 2018 I decided to do a six week programme for the first time and dropped 10kg and then some more after my 6 weeks. The six week programme was not difficult to follow. You don’t have to make complicated dishes, just a little bit of preparation is all you need. The best was to see how the weight just dropped off in the first 2 weeks of the programme! It was such a motivation to keep going! I never felt hungry either, the food was plenty.

I have arthritis issues which cause me a lot of pain in my joints, but somehow the better eating habits and regular strength training have helped a lot and I don’t have to take anti-inflammatories so often anymore.

I had my third child at the age of 43, so I am a lot older than their friends’ moms, but I love the fact that I am now strong and fit enough to play tag and soccer with my 3 young kids, give them piggy backs (sometimes 2 of them at the same time!), swing them around, etc. Of course, it feels great when people notice my weight loss too :-)

The coaches at FSPT are fantastic. When I had a knee injury they literally looked after me and gave me alternative exercises to do until my knee was better, and I was so happy that I didn’t have to stop going to gym because of my injury! They are always available to motivate and give advice and push us a bit harder. And of course there is always time for a little joke too. It just makes FSPT such a nice place to come to every day.

I would like to become even fitter and stronger and lose some more weight, but for now, I am just really enjoying my exercise at FPST and working at maintaining my new weight.

I can’t imagine my life without all the burpees, bear crawls and Sally up and down anymore :-) Thanks Kevin and your team for changing my and so many other people’s lives! You guys are truly amazing!
